Davis Vipers
The oldest private semi pro football organization in Utah

The Davis Vipers were established in 2000, by Rex Stacy & Jay Leaf. The Vipers played their inaugural season in 2001, entering the Utah Football League (UFL). In 2002, Jay Leaf retired from football, leaving Rex Stacy as the sole owner/GM of the Vipers. Jay was certainly missed however, his toughness will never be forgotten by those that played with him. The Vipers played 3 seasons in the UFL, battling teams all over the state of Utah, & played numerous games with teams from other leagues/states. From city parks, to college stadiums the Vipers traveled as far as Spokane, Washington to meet the challenge of opposing teams in the west.
In 2004 The UFL merged with the RMFL. The Vipers have been playing in the RMFL ever since. In 2006, the RMFL went to a split league format: AA/AAA. The Vipers competed in the AA. The 2006 season, fell just short as the Vipers lost in the AA Championship game to the Kamas Valley Muddogs 13-10. 2007 saw the Vipers play their first (& only) undefeated regular season. What seemed like would be "the year", again fell short as the Vipers were defeated by Missoula in the semi-finals of the playoffs.
2008 saw alot of change for the Vipers organization. After an anti-climatic finish to the 2007 campaign, in 2008 with change in mind, the Vipers accepted the challenge to compete in the RMFL's AAA ranks. A tough season was had(2-6), although, lots of fun & great times were had, after all..... we were still playing football..! The 2009 season, had the Vipers slated for another shot at AAA competition. It would however, only be in preseason as the Vipers were decimated by player transfers. 18 Starters from the previous season either retired or transferred to other teams in the league. The biggest beneficiary was the Utah Shock (formerly KV Muddogs). Unfortunately, this was not apparent until after the league meetings, & forced a last minute drop to the RMFL's AA league. 2009 saw a mostly new look for the Vipers as they began to rebuild the team. After 2 seasons (2009& 2010) of rebuilding, the Vipers are hopefull, that 2011 could be "the year" for the organization. 2011 will pit plenty of Viper veterans, competing with a few new faces to meet the challenge of competition for the RMFL 2011 AA Crown.
In the 10yrs the Vipers have in the books, Davis has played a combined 100+ games via, regular season, playoffs, pre-season, & inter-league exhibition games. No team in Utah can say that. The Vipers have played games in Utah, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Washington, & Wyoming. Hundreds of players have competed in Viper red over the years. Players have ranged from men in the 40's, to young men in their teens. The one common denominator being a love for the game of football. The Vipers are proud of their history, & look forward to the future. Are you ready for some football....?
